During the summer I visited Northampton to take part in a youth film project working with the Northamptonshire Bangeladeshi Community. The brief was to create a 5 minute animation, which focuses on the exploits of two clumsy but lovable brothers who run a local pirate radio station under the aliases of DJ Mankind and DJ Small-steps. The young people contributed to the script, voice over and came up with the character designs. I then combined all their hard work and created the animation.
Below is a short clip of
Pirates of the Indian Ocean. Detective McButt has just stormed the DJ's studio and is demanding they shut down, much to the annoyance of their loyal listeners.
In other news...Forget Me Not Africa animation has been nominated for the Innovation in Messaging award at the Global Messaging Awards 2010.
Goodbye Mr Pink has been selected to take part in the programme for the
FIBDA - Comic Strip Festival in Algiers on October 13-17.
